Discipline

We just spent the day at a parenting seminar. The topic was discipline, but the session covered more than and items different than we expected. It was actually a day well spent!

Held at the Montessori Academy of Chicago, the school we want to get Gilbert in to (we are on the wait list), the school is only a mile from our condo and would be perfect for many reasons beyond simple proximity.

The day was a good test for all three of us. For Kristen and me, it was the first time we relenquished care of Gilbert to someone besides ourselves, family, or our nanny. For Gilbert, it was a full day in a strange surrounding with people unfamiliar.

Well, the day could not have gone more swimmingly! We dropped off Gilbert in his room and the caregivers were amazing! And Gilbert loved it. He immediately took to his surroundings and scooted toward the closest child to say hello.

Throughout the day we would sneak back to the room to see how Gilbert was making on and he was having a blast. He either was scooting around, playing with the other kids, or enjoying being cared for. It was a great day!

I did learn spanking is acceptable, but just on my wife only!
